With a focus on simplicity and the beauty within colour, material and form; Katie aims to create a range of artworks combining subtle gradients, miniature vessels and other complimenting materials. From small decorative pieces to large scale installations she strives to create a strong visual impact through clean lines, bold forms and colour gradients. The process of colouring slip and creating subtle gradients is what she finds most exciting; enjoying the technical process behind creating each colour and how different experiments can give different and new results. Inspired by many aspects of nature: gradients within the sea and sky, textures in marine life and natural composition throughout global landscapes.
